Express Air Freight/ Skyline Freight JFK New York recently arranged and handled a “Dragline bucket” used in strip mines in the USA

February 17, 2006, Express Air Freight/ Skyline Freight (our ocean division) arranged the transportation from the Port of Houston, Texas to Wyoming. The “bucket” weighed 52 tons (115,000 lbs). Because of the weight and size, Skyline Freight arranged special equipment to handle the weight as well local, state, and federal permits. In addition, police and private escorts were required along the entire route. Power line crews were also used at various stages along the route to drop power and telephone lines, so the vehicles could safely pass through various towns and cities. The “bucket” originated in Africa, and besides the transportation from the Port of Houston, Texas, Skyline Freight also arranged clearance at the port. A second “bucket” will also be handled by Skyline Freight! Image: 52 tons “Bucket” at port.
